IC 443, the Jellyfish Nebula, is a remnant of a galactic supernova, that occurred 30.000 to 35.000 years ago near Eta Geminorum, about 5.000 light years from earth in constellation Gemini.

The same supernova may also have created the neutron star CXOU J061705.3+222127, the collapsed remnant of the stellar core.
