HTT 2025 – Part 3: Bye And See You Again
After the restless night plagued by mosquitoes, the second night was a welcome contrast — peaceful and quiet, without any buzzing to disturb our sleep. The calm felt like a small reward. As the first gentle rays of sunlight filtered through the windows, we sensed that the time to say goodbye was drawing near.
That morning, it was time to swap comfort for action — dismantling the telescope, packing away cables, and tidying up the bus. But curiosity won over exhaustion: a quick glance at the night’s images made my heart jump with excitement. While I was still dozing, the sky had actually cleared completely. The clouds had rolled away, revealing a nearly pristine, twinkling starry sky. Thanks to this, I managed to capture some valuable shots of the Bubble Nebula after all.
After breakfast, we said our farewells to Ronald and the new friends we had made. It is these encounters and shared moments beyond the equipment that make such weekends truly memorable. With one last look at the quiet field in Jeßnigk, we began our journey back to Chemnitz.
It was an amazing weekend — the dark sky, the shared passion, discovering new horizons, and all the conversations with kindred spirits under the stars. We will definitely return to Jeßnigk next year to spend time again beneath this special starry canopy.
Until then: Clear Skies!
